Short Introduction from the video: Gender stereotype
An experiment to explain how parents perpetuate gender clichés: “Dans la Tête De” or “In the Head” explains how parents reproduce sexist clichés that were instilled in them in childhood through an experiment.
The experiment is filmed by a Swiss television and participating mothers. The fathers and their infants are welcomed into a waiting room full of toys and games, and voluntarily, in a gendered manner: one side with toys associated with girls and one side with toys associated with boys. The fathers and their children enter the waiting room and the discrete camera observes the attitudes and behaviors of the fathers. How will these moments of play between fathers and children take place?
The same television show carried out an experiment on the streets. They offered people this following riddle:
A father and his son are in a car accident. The father dies. The son is taken to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital says: “No, I cannot operate on this boy because he is my son. Who is this person?”
What is your response?
The answer is in the main text. ;
