Pre Math is an early learning activity, which aims at the intellectual development of the child and prepares him/her for future learning. Through these activities, the child discovers the basics of mathematics such as geometric shapes and numbers.
Preschool gradually leads pupils to understand that numbers can be used to express both
quantities and rank or position in a list. This learning process takes time, and involves numerous situations involving pre-numerical and then
numerical activities. In preschool, children acquire knowledge and reference points for a
number of shapes and sizes. The approach to plane shapes, spatial
objects and magnitudes is based on manipulating and coordinating actions on objects.
Pre-mathematics allows the child to:
• be introduced to mathematical language.
• develop their logical reasoning.
• prepare for learning mathematics in primary school.
