The stimulation and structuring of oral language, the development of comprehension of texts read by adults, and awareness of the sound and visual components of language are all priorities for nursery school, and concern all areas of learning.

By structuring the oral language, initiating the gradual entry into the culture of the written word and discovering its functions, nursery school promotes the acquisition of the Khmer language, as an essential condition for the success of all.
