This platform is designed to contribute to the development and improvement of the quality of preschools in Cambodia. More specifically, it aims at supporting preschool teachers in service and provides access to a large number of essential tools:
Official resources: official and legal documentation, contacts of key actors, links to other relevant sites.
Pedagogical resources to support the preparation of the activities in class: explanatory videos, activity sheets.
Guidelines and templates: classroom administration, teaching materials, space management and decoration, and material production.
Early childhood education faces many challenges in Cambodia. One of the most important is the quality of preschool education, especially in Community Pre-schools.
To address this, Planète Enfants & Développement has been working since the 1990s on preschool development, particularly in rural and low-income communities, in partnership with communes, local organizations and Cambodian authorities. Around 150 community preschools have been set up since then.
In addition to the establishment of CPSs, the organization is working hard on early childhood policies, teacher training, and the development of teaching materials.
This online platform has been designed to meet the specific challenges of CPS but it is intended to be a portal that brings together all the useful material for all kindergartens in Cambodia, regardless of their status.
Investing in Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) is a priority. The first six years of a child’s life are the most important for his or her future. Studies show that a child’s experiences and emotional relationships shape their approach to the outside world. They lay the foundation for their development, their success at school and at work, and their personal growth.
The Cambodian government has been committed to ECCD for years and has adopted framework
laws, drafted several national policies and action plans, which have been implemented through
different programmes, but many difficulties and challenges remain.
