Motor activities are activities that meet the child’s need for movement. They help correct negative behaviors, improve muscular coordination, precision and adaptation of gestures, thus promoting harmonious physical development.
These activities provide education through physical movement, helping the child become more aware of their body, its potential and its limits. Through sports games and exercises, the child works on
balance and coordination while engaging muscle strength to master certain activities such as sitting,
walking, running, climbing, jumping, etc.
Psychomotricity in particular includes motor functions that are directly or indirectly related to
thinking, psychology and brain functions. It is rooted in a system of regulation, feedback and
homeostasis which seeks to bring the body and thought into line.
Psychomotricity allows the child to:
• Develop the link between the intellect and the physical.
• Develop motor coordination in all its aspects
